| How To Offer a file: (see How To Receive A File below) |
| 1. The user wishing to share a file with friends, clicks "offer file" in the File menu, and selects the file they wish to share. |

2. The user can either make the file offer to the entire room their character is in, or select from a list of friends (sorry, you have to enter character names manually... but only once). |

|
3. The user then provides their REAL ip address, and a port which other's can reach their workstation at (ie, is not blocked by a firewall). |

4. Summary information is provided. The use can click < Back to make changes on any of the wizard pages. |

5. The 'file server' opens on the offering user's workstation. At the same time, a specially formatted GrMud url is sent to all the file offer recipients. Note: The user can click close to kill all active file transfer, or right click a connection and select 'kill' to close a single session. |

How To Receive A File |
1. File offers made to a user appear as a specially formatted url. Clicking the url opens the GrMud File Download dialog. |

2. When the File Download dialog opens, it will inform the user of all the vital statistics for the file offer (name of file, size, server address, and port). At this point, the user should consider providing a better local file name such as C:\mydownloads\summonergeeks.exe. |

3. Clicking Start Download starts the download. As it proceeds the progress and performance of the transfer will be displayed in 'real time'. Once the transfer is complete, a simple dialog will notify the user, and offer to open the file for them (otherwise the dialog can be closed). |
